FROM THE DIARY OF A NOVELIST

June 1, 2013

The “GO” signal for sending my second novel THE WAY THEY SEE to the printer has finally been switched on. Up to this point, waiting for the proofreader, cover artist, and  formatter, the train was moving at an  excruciatingly, tearing-my-hair-out, slow pace.

Next: waiting for the proof from the printer. Making ready my mailing list for flyers and letters.

Meanwhile, continued wishful-dreaming about Philip Roth’s endorsement of The Provider. I’m  reading, one after the other,  his third novel—incredibly powerful writer.  In my head, I can’t let go of his books after reading them: American Pastoral, Nemisis, now Sabbath’s Theater.

Also am waiting for word about winning a prestigious book competition. Even with disappointments in these two areas, the locomotive toward the publication of my new novel moves to its destination. Smiles.
